I booked this home for my family during the World Cup and the surrounding area did not match the listing. When we arrived, we saw a house with boarded‑up windows across the street, a large group of people loitering on the corner, and visible homeless activity on the block. After looking up the address, we also learned there had been a recent shooting about a mile away. Traveling with our four‑month‑old baby, we didn’t feel safe entering or staying at the property.<br/>When I shared these concerns, the host did not address the specific safety issues we raised. Instead, their response shifted to a general commentary about homelessness, which felt dismissive and didn’t acknowledge the actual conditions we encountered. We reported everything promptly and acted in good faith. Unfortunately, the listing’s neighborhood description and the reality were not aligned, and the host’s handling of the situation was not helpful.
